BrightSpark Foundation is pleased to be partnering with the Western Australian Government’s Future Health Research and Innovation Fund in co- sponsoring the recently established Early-Career Child Health Researcher (ECCHR) Fellowships.
The Program encourages and supports WA based early career researchers to pursue a career in child health research (CHR).
This new Program offers Fellowships for up to three years and immediately increases the opportunities for WA based researchers who are passionate about a career in medical research and improving the health outcomes for our children – said BrightSpark Chair Graham Dowland.
“These fellowships provide a more defined and secure career pathway for WA based researchers, who are near completing or have recently completed their doctorate and are early- stage researchers, thereby enhancing their research career prospects and expanding the capabilities and capacity of our research institutions to investigate and solve child health problems” said Mr Dowland.
Today the Hon. Stephen Dawson MLC, Minister for Medical Research announced the launch of the ECCHR Fellowships Program.
The 2023 ECCHR Fellowships round opened for applications on 4th July 2023 with the fellowships to commence in 2024.
The ECCHR Fellowship funding, combined with the minimum gap contribution from the fellow’s research entity, will provide salary support for the fellow undertaking CHR, as well as contribute to direct research costs up to a combined total of $120,000 per annum.
